Really sucks that AA isn’t even shown on the program guide map so please reblog posts about AA when you can so people selling there this year can be found. We have a tiny text mention but I know a lot of people who are very visual. ALSO if you’re at Fanime selling in the AA or just going for fun please tag your location on Instagram if you have it :) It only lets you tag the convention center but you can put “I’m in the south hall behind the convention center in a giant striped blue and white tent thing” Let people know where its at and that they should go <3 Maybe offer discounts if they mention they saw your post about it!

Please reblog any posts about where the AA is this year or make your own posts. Just do whatever you can do spread the word O: If you’re not going to Fanime please reblog anyway in case your followers do go! Or might go! xoxoxo Thank you <3

Please spread this you guys! Even if you aren’t going (you never know who of your followers is) There isn’t really a real map of where we are and it’s been my experience that when they move an AA at a con, its tends to not get visited. (Yes, it has happened to me before. In fact, I ended up losing money by being there because they put the AA in the basement and barely anyone came by) And the artists, who spent countless hours getting ready for the convention end up getting the short end of the stick.

Hopefully there will be decent signage inside the con to point us out but if not, this will be the best way to know where we are at.

I’ll be at Fanime at the San Jose Convention Center this memorial day weekend.

In transferring files from my old Mac to my new one, I made a HUGE mistake and didn’t properly copy over all my files. I THOUGHT I had but only to find that I only made them shareable. Really, everything that is REALLY important is here so thank god for that but I lost all my files for my COLORS art book, including any larger JPGS than the low-res ones I posted on DA and original PSDs.

The only ones who have my hi-res files is Society 6, but apparently they have a strict policy about not releasing those back. I just sent a message pleading with them, but I’m not sure it’s going to work out. *sigggghhhhhh* I’m probably just going to have to draw over the files I have on DA in the size I want and do them all over again. :/ I tried enlarging them the best I can and sent them to be printed, just to see how they turn out. Hopefully I am happy with the results. 。ﾟ(ﾟﾉД｀ﾟ)ﾟ｡

- It fits great actually! Any ring I have ever owned gets slippery when you are washing your hands with soap and water. And its not like if I sat there with soapy,wet hands and held my hand upside down that the ring would start slipping off. It’s more that if I am rubbing my hands together, there is always the possibility that I could catch my ring and pull it off by accident since it’s being lubricated by soap. (when my hands are just wet, it’s really not an issue) That probably isn’t even really possible but I would rather not risk it. Either way, its not like my ring is moving around on my finger or comes off too easy. I just worry about the possibility of it slipping off when I wash my hands. That and I guess I worry about the soap making the ring dingy too, over time. (and I can only bring it in to have it washed professionally every 6 months)

Things I learned/noticed in Japan

1. First of all, everything is so clean! Huy and I hardly ever saw trash in the big cities. On top of that, we also hardly ever saw trash cans. So, the cleanliness was pretty surprising with the lack of trash cans. We met a French man who worked in Tokyo and he said that people there just carry their trash with them until they get home or their office to throw it away.

2. All the women in Japan dress so cute! I pretty much never saw a Japanese woman who didn’t take care and time to look good. Even if I didn’t like their particular style, you could tell that they took time in their appearance. Also, Japan is very much a leg country over cleavage, so you saw a LOT of women wearing skirts.

3. Food is really cheap! Which is great for those who are traveling there and don’t have means of holding food. Our French friend also explained that a lot of Japanese don’t have a whole lot of room in their homes or kitchens, so it’s fairly common to go out to eat. Also, with no tipping (there is no tipping in Japan), it makes food even cheaper.

4. The Japanese tend to pass each other on the left side of the sidewalk. This took me a while to get used to. I kept immediately walking on the right side then finding myself running into people. @___@ It’s such a strange thing to think about but us Americans actually pass each other on the right side of the sidewalk and we do it naturally without really thinking. So, you don’t really notice until you get to a country like Japan where it’s different.

5. The majority of the Japanese public does not speak English. Before I left, everyone kept saying “oh, everyone speaks English out there!” but of course they don’t. And I don’t understand why most Americans think this. I guess it’s an ego-centric American thing x___x. And lets clarify something, I never once thought that they would. I went there expecting that absolutely no one would speak English and I learned some key phrases and words before I went there. (Which I actually ended up using quite a bit) Now, to say that everyone knows one or two WORDS of English, then yes, that would be a true statement I think. Because, pretty much every single person I talked to knew one or two words of English like “Hello” “Thank you” “sorry” or “Okay”. Just like how we know some words like “Sayonara” “Arigato” “Konnichiwa” or “Hai”. So, never ever go to Japan expecting a whole country, with it’s own language, to understand your language.

6. The Japanese are very honest people and there is very little crime. I can honestly say that this was the only place where I could walk down a dark alley and not feel that my safety was threatened. You would constantly see bikes parked all over the place and they really didn’t have a whole lot of locks to keep them from being stolen. I saw some that had a small lock around the wheel and I also saw others that didn’t have locks at all. Even with the locks on the wheel, without the bike being locked to a post or something, someone could just pick up the bike and take it. (Which would totally happen in the states) Yet, they don’t really have an issue with their bikes being stolen.

Also, lets take a moment to talk about how I lost my wedding ring in Japan. @___@;;; I was in a store in Akihabara and I took off my ring to wash my hands in the bathroom. I always take off my ring because if I leave it on my finger and it gets wet, it risks slipping off and going down the drain. But, I forgot to put my ring back on when I left the bathroom, therefore leaving it on the bathroom counter. It wasn’t until midnight that night that I realized that I had left it behind. I was literally up all night shitting myself when I realized! I looked up about losing items in Japan and saw that one: there is some sort of a law in Japan that requires people to turn in lost objects and two: that my best bet was to go to the local police station and file a report. So, the next morning I did just that. I went to a police station and painstakingly filed a report for my missing ring. I found one officer who spoke English, but just barely enough. When I was there, I asked her if I should check the store and she told me no. She said that the store should turn it into the police if they find it. But, she said I should check the Koban (small police station) that is closest to the store I went to. So, the next day I went down to the Koban nearest the store. Unfortunately, these officers spoke almost no english. Either way, I was able to tell them in Japanese “ring…lost” and tell them it had pink in it. The officers seemed to think that they had it but the person with the key to the safe was gone for the day. So, they asked me to come back the next morning. I came back the next morning and after talking to each other in broken english/japanese for an hour, we found out that they did not actually have my ring. Unfortunately, we had to leave for Hakone that day but we would be back in Tokyo a week later.

So, a week later we came back and I pretty much had no faith that I would find my ring ever again. My husband and I went back to Akihabara on the way back from Osaka and he made the suggestion that we stop by the store I lost my ring in, just to see if they ever saw it or still might have it. I told him that it had been a week and there was no way they would still have it. Especially after the police kept telling me that it wouldn’t be there any longer. Still, we went to the store anyway. We went to the floor that I lost the ring (since this was an 8 story store) and talked to the clerk there. Again, he spoke very little English so I told him in broken Japanese “ring…lost”. He asked me “What day?” and I pointed out the day to him on a calendar. He picked up the phone and called someone and hung up. He told me that he called the owner to see if he had it. A few minutes later a man came down and opened him palm in front of me and my ring was inside it! I was so grateful that I pretty much bowed at 90 degrees and blurted out ARIGATO GOZAIMASU!!!!! about half a dozen times. In fact, i think I embarrassed him because I bowed so low. lol! My husband and I were so grateful that we even bought like 6 things from the store. XD hahahaha

So, this just goes to show the honesty of the Japanese people. I left a $2,000 diamond studded ring in a bathroom and got it returned to me. In the states, my ring would be as good as gone.

My old Imac 24 inch has been a total butt to me for the past 6 months or so. Its been superrrrr slowwwww and it would not, for whatever reason be nice to my tablet. So, every time I would unplug my tablet, it would not work again when I plugged it back in. I would keep updating drivers and uninstalling and reinstalling, etc. etc. and it still wouldn’t work. Which meant that I kept my tablet perpetually plugged in. And if I accidentally unplugged it or needed to unplug it, it would require a reboot to have it work again.

So anyway, my hubby and I went out and got me a new 27 inch Imac.

First of all, this thing is fucking HUGE. Its almost as big as the TV in my room. Second, thank god for speed again. Third, what do you know my tablet works normal again. And fourth, my old iMac used to get so HOT and it would actually get my room hot. But this newer model is thinner and doesn’t get hot at all. It’s been on all day transferring files and it’s pretty much room temperature.

But, at the same time, FML for having to re-enter passwords and shit for my webpages. I’m sure there is a way to transfer all that crap (bookmarks and passwords and such) to a new comp but in the midst of being ABSOLUTELY sure that I got every single PSD and important files (I got rid of a bunch of the rest since I did have a lot of flotsom that I didn’t need) and every piece of music and so on, I completely forgot to grab those things. And now my hubby is clearing the old comp so that maybe we can sell it to someone who wants it. So, here I am with a new comp, going to all the webpages I can think of to bookmark them and enter passwords.

So yeah, this sucks balls @___@ but is also awesome at the same time. lol
